Students from the Faculty of Medicine at New Mansoura University visited the Oncology Center in Mansoura as part of the university’s efforts to serve the community and the environment

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Moawad Al-Kholy, President of New Mansoura University, and the leadership of Prof. Dr. Hala Al-Marsafawi, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and supervised by Prof. Dr. Susie Fayez, Director of the Medicine and Surgery Program.

The Weqaya family at the Faculty of Medicine, New Mansoura University, organized under the supervision of Dr. Dina Badr, the family leader, visited the Oncology Center at Mansoura University on March 21, 2024. The visit focused on the children’s department, with the aim of providing support and care to children suffering from cancer. The visit included bringing joy to the children, distributing some gifts and toys to them, and benefiting from the expertise of the staff. And collecting some donations for the center. The organization’s committee for the visit included: student Hossam Ahmed, family prevention rapporteur, student Arwa Ayman Fawzi, student Omar Magdy Abdel Azim, student Ahmed Awad Muhammad, student Youssef Al-Shablanji, student Ahmed Imad Hafez.

The students were warmly received by the center’s work team, where a comprehensive introductory tour was organized for the students within the center’s departments and they learned about the work provided to sick children, in addition to an opportunity to communicate with the children and provide them with psychological support and encouragement.

The students expressed their happiness and gratitude for this valuable experience, which gave them the opportunity to learn closely about the cases of sick children and provide them with support, stressing the importance of the doctor’s role in providing psychological care and support to patients and their families.

For their part, the center’s management praised the students’ efforts and dedication to serving the community and providing support to sick children, expressing deep appreciation for their positive initiative and effective role in putting a smile on children’s faces and increasing their enthusiasm and optimism in the face of the disease. This visit comes within the framework of a series of events and activities carried out by the Faculty of Medicine at New Mansoura University as part of its comprehensive vision to enhance volunteer work and community service, while being keen to support the health sector and provide the necessary care to patients with various types of diseases.
